Warranty and product help

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Need help with an electronic device or appliance from Takealot? Start with the exact model and order details so we can identify the relevant instructions and support route.

Before you buy

Check the model, included accessories, connections, electrical requirements, dimensions and any stated compatibility limits. If you need the product for a particular purpose, explain that purpose before purchasing and keep the written advice you receive. Ask us to clarify a specification or warranty that is not clearly stated.

Your statutory quality rights

Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, the six-month remedy for goods that fail to meet its quality requirements is separate from any additional manufacturer cover. You may direct the supplier to repair, replace or refund under section 56. After a qualifying repair, an unresolved or further fault within three months engages the replacement-or-refund remedy described in that section. See Returns and refunds for the full process.

Additional manufacturer cover

Any additional cover must be confirmed for the specific model. Its provider, duration, territory, exclusions and claim process should appear in the product or warranty documentation. A manufacturer’s warranty cannot reduce a mandatory right against the seller. We do not assume a common warranty period across all products.

Damage caused by misuse, an unsuitable installation or alterations can affect a claim to the extent permitted by law. An assessment must distinguish such damage from a covered defect or unreasonable lack of durability; these possibilities are not automatic reasons to reject every claim.

Request help

  1. Use our contact form with your order number or another proof of purchase.
  2. Give the model and serial number if readily available, explain the symptoms and say when they started. Do not share passwords or complete payment details.
  3. Tell us which remedy you are seeking. We will explain any assessment or collection arrangements and the applicable rights.
  4. Do not arrange a chargeable repair on our behalf without agreement. Any proposed diagnostic fee, paid repair or additional work must be disclosed and authorised where required.

Data and device preparation

Back up personal information before service where possible. Remove SIM and removable memory cards, sign out of accounts, and disable an activation lock only through the device’s official process. If the fault prevents these steps, tell us. We will discuss a suitable approach rather than treating the technical obstacle as an automatic rejection of the claim.

Safe use and installation

Use the product as instructed by its manufacturer. Do not open a device, bypass a safety feature or attempt a dangerous repair to diagnose a claim. If you notice overheating, exposed wiring or a swollen battery, stop using the product and contact us for suitable next steps. Products requiring electrical, gas, plumbing or structural installation should be installed by an appropriately qualified person as required.

Installation, subscriptions, consumables and additional accessories are included only if the product offer or a separate agreement says so.

Repair parts and paid work

Where section 57 of the Consumer Protection Act applies to repair or maintenance work, the installed new or reconditioned parts and the labour to install them carry its three-month warranty, or a longer period stated by the supplier. Its statutory conditions apply. This is separate from the section 56 remedy for a fault recurring after a qualifying product repair.
